4×6 Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II Review
If you’re looking for one of the top rated, yet least expensive quality photo paper buys, the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II is a great purchase. The Canon paper creates nice photos and doesn’t have a cheap look or feel to it. The reason it delivers a quality feel is it has a thick stock behind it and a higher gloss than most of the standard glossy paper you will find in retail.
In contrast to cheap photo paper that will have its corners roll up, Canon stays straight and lies flat. If you want something that feels like it’s been taken from a photo lab but for the do it yourselfer with home printing needs, this is a top choice. I will describe the Cannon Plus Glossy as professional in a home photoshop sense, but if you’re developing prints as a pro, this falls short of that benchmark (which still speaks to how great this affordable photopaper is).

Now, if you’re buying the Canon Plus Photo Paper, you should know a few details for optimum results. First, it works best with a Canon Printer (no surprises here). Keep in mind that this is not a heavyweight photo paper, so if you need something that weighs in your hand a little more, you will want to upgrade. The Canon 4×6 PhotoPaper matches ideally with the concept of a very high quality home print photo paper. Also, keep in mind the drying time may take a little bit longer than other papers, but the color and brightness is well above average.
You can find the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II for anywhere between $14.99 to $19.99 which combined with all of the positive attributes including touch, feel, density, brightness, color, it provides a great value and a professional, high quality look for those making prints at home. I rate this product an excellent 4.4 out of 5.
A Look Ahead
In my next reviews, I will be examining the different Epson and HP photo papers and doing a comparative analysis against some of the higher quality picture for home. For beginners, bear in mind, that brands put out staggered levels of quality in their product reflective of both use and price. For example, HP may have a premium brand, a middle tier, and a basic quality available to use.
